Frequently Asked Question - Newborn Photo Sessions

Our terms and conditions are standard, non-negotiable, and designed to protect both the photographer and the client. Please read them carefully before booking. For any questions, feel free to ask—but note that they apply equally to all clients.

Does this packages include outfits?

Yes, for these sessions. We will be providing most of the outfit for babies. Props like Baskets, boxes, suspenders, bows, crochet garments, hats, caps, frames. etc. are arranged by me for the session.

When can we schedule the shoot for newborn?

We do a tentative booking for your newborn session depending on your delivery date given during your last sonography. The final date for the session is decided on the day of your delivery. We need around 10-12days to shift and reschedule dates with other clients to give you a final date. Thus it is extremely important for someone from your side to inform us on the day of the delivery.

When is the ideal time to have a Newborn session and how long before birth should I schedule this in?

The best time to schedule a newborn session is within 5-15 days.
They sleep for much longer periods during this period.
However, even after 2 weeks you can still get gorgeous images, but, the typical newborn poses most likely won’t be possible. But there are other ways advantages to photographing a slightly older baby and your images will be equally as beautiful.
To schedule a session it is recommended to call/get in contact during your pregnancy. That way we can pencil book in your due date and see closer at the time whether you will be early or late to re-arrange the exact timing of your session.

Whats the time duration of the shoot?

A single newborn session normally lasts around 1.5-3 hours. As you simply cannot direct a small newborn, we adapt to his or her schedule. So if she doesn’t want to sleep or is a bit cranky and you will need to attend to his/her needs, then that is more than ok. We will have plenty of time to capture your precious one.

The timings depend on your baby’s sleep schedule, as newborns are best clicked while they are in their deepest sleep.
I give breaks in between for the kids to relax, feed, sleep etc.
In the rare occasion that the session does take longer than three hours, we will need to make a decision ahead of time. Usually after 2 hours we know where we stand and how much we have managed to capture up to this point. So, we can discuss whether another hour after the 3 hours is necessary. We will make mutual decision.

Where will the photoshoot take place?

Even though I could easily set up my own studio and despite the fact that I have to carry around all my props and equipment, I decided on purpose to do these shoots at your home under home-studio setup concept for two reasons:

Being in a familiar environment will keep your newborn in a much more relaxed state and
Also capturing you, the parents, and/or any other siblings in your own home will be much easier and make the images more special.

The warmth of your home and the love for your family will show in the images and has a much more intimate feel than in a studio set up. And that is more the essence of my style.
The ONLY requirement is that you need to have 10 x 10 feet space to build the newborn set up.

What should I pay attention to prior to the session? How do I prepare?

There are several little things to pay attention to before I arrive such as, please do not feed your little one before we arrive, otherwise she/he will fall asleep before we start and it might be hard to settle her down again when we are ready to shoot.
Similarly, please do not dress him/her in anything that needs to be pulled over baby's head, otherwise she/he will wake up when we try to wrap the baby.

Can we include my older son/daughter to be part of the shoot?

Of course, absolutely! We do encourage this even. We want you to see this photoshoot as a potential family shoot as well. Capturing the interaction of your first born with your newborn can be quite emotional and unique, so this is a very important part of our photo sessions.
Yes! All our sessions include family portraits that include the Mother, Father and Full-Siblings (if any). We take 2-3 pictures with the siblings, however, we give more attention to the younger one.
Family Portraits are included and are restricted to ONLY parents baby's full-siblings.
Other family members can be included at additional charges of ₹999/- per person.
Niece, Nephew or other relatives will be added at additional charges.

Do we, the parents, need to be in the photographs? I don’t feel ready to have my picture takes as yet.

We completely understand that so shortly after giving birth, you might not feel ready to have your picture taken as yet. However, we do encourage you to think about this anyways.
The images in which you and your husband are interacting with your little baby can be the most precious images of them all. You might regret it afterwards not having taken any images with your child.
Despite the fact, we completely understand that you might feel a bit uncomfortable, we do would like to encourage you to throw on a little make-up and choose a nice outfit. We can just capture a few here and there and you will have them regardless. You might be surprised how much you grow to love them in the end.

How are the images shared? Will I get RAW images?

All the watermarked images will be shared within 2-4 working days. Edited images will take 2-4 weeks after the selection of images is done.
We will attend any retouching needs for the images of your session. In addition to that any basic color enhancement and my signature look will be applied to all images.
We will share edited digital images from the session as per selected package and extra edits can be bought for ₹350 per image.
Delivery of images will be on Google Drive only and Pen drive can be acquired at additional charges.
Delivery of printed images will be sent via courier by our printing vendors directly to the address provided.
If, in case, you wish to get the images on priority, we do have a ‘Quick Delivery’ option at an additional charges of ₹1,999/-.
RAW or unedited images will NOT be shared under any circumstances. Please check the reason why it is followed by most of the professional photographer worldwide by visiting this link.
However, if you insist to keep the RAW images, you can always buy them at additional price of ₹3,999/- ONLY. You need to inform us before the photo session if you intend to buy RAW image and please refrain from any negotiations after the photo session.

This charge is non-negotiable and ensures that you receive high-quality images with full editing flexibility. Here are some reasons to justify the additional charge of ₹3,999/- for RAW images:

Photographer's Expertise and Time: RAW images are unprocessed and contain a vast amount of data, which allows for greater flexibility in post-processing. However, capturing and handling RAW images requires professional expertise and additional time for the photographer/editor. The charge reflects the photographer’s skills and effort put into creating high-quality RAW images.
File Size and Storage: RAW files are significantly larger than standard JPEG images, requiring more storage space and longer upload/download times. This increases the photographer's costs in terms of data management, storage, and delivery.
Editing Freedom: RAW images provide the maximum flexibility for editing, allowing clients to make extensive changes to exposure, color balance, and other parameters. By purchasing RAW files, clients are essentially buying the freedom to handle future edits on their own or through another editor, which adds value to the deliverable.
Professional Standard: The photographer’s standard offering may include only processed images in formats like JPEG, which are ready-to-use and optimized for various purposes. RAW images, on the other hand, are like digital negatives and are not typically delivered unless specifically requested, justifying an additional fee.
Additional Workload: Providing RAW files may require additional steps for the photographer in terms of organizing, exporting, and ensuring the files are delivered in a usable format. The fee compensates for this extra workload. These reasons explain the added value and effort behind RAW image delivery, making the extra charge reasonable.

What if we don't want you to post our photos online (Privacy Purchase)?

If you wish to prevent the photographer from using any of your images online, we have the option of purchasing privacy at an additional cost of 25% on the original package pricing (Privacy Purchase).
We highly respect your decisions on the usage of images and formalized this process to prevent any usage of your family images on our social media and website.
Intention: Images used by us online, are mainly to help market and showcase variety by displaying the capability and potential of our photography services.

What happens if I want to reschedule or cancel my session?

Let us know a minimum 48 hours in advance and we can reschedule your session to the next available date. Less than 48 hours we may forfeit your booking deposit.
This would be solely at the our discretion and on a case-to-case basis.
Advance is non-refundable, but can be used for further bookings.

How to make the payment?

Online Bank Transfer / UPI - Transfer the amount via NEFT, IMPS, or UPI using the provided account details or QR code.
Google Pay / PhonePe / Paytm - Quick payments can be made via popular apps. We’ll share the preferred number or UPI ID upon booking.
Cash Payment - Accepted for in-person meetings or at the time of the session (advance may be required to confirm booking).
Payment Link / Invoice - On request, we can send a secure payment link or invoice via email or WhatsApp.
Kindly book at least 7-14 days in advance. Please avoid last minute payments for booking your time slot. We take bookings on first-cum-first-serve basis only.
Your session Time Slot and Date will be secured only after the 50% advance is paid.
The balance 50% should be paid on the day of photo session (post photoshoot).
Additional Props rentals should be paid in full at the time of booking.
Extra edits, photo frame, albums, etc., are sold separately.

Are the prices negotiagble?

I’m confident that once you see the final product, you’ll recognize the value, craftsmanship, and creativity that goes into every photograph. For this reason, I do not engage in bargaining, as each image reflects dedicated effort and artistic vision.
